Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) can offer many women a transformative approach to restoring balance in their lives. Whether you are experiencing symptoms of hormonal imbalance due to perimenopause, menopause, or other factors, low dose estrogen, with or without or progesterone, as well as low dose testosterone, hormone replacement can help you feel like yourself again.

And yes, women make testosterone naturally in their ovaries and adrenal glands. By restoring hormone levels back to where a woman feels like herself again, symptoms such as fatigue, mood swings, and hot flashes can be reduced. Adding back testosterone can also help some women with low libido.

There has been a lot of controversy over the years surrounding hormone treatments. There is recent evidence that the original study done on women in 2003, called the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI), may not have been altogether accurate since many study participants were much older at the start of their hormone journey. The newer data indicates that starting HRT within ten years of menopause may be very protective against chronic disease. Waiting too long to start HRT may not offer this protection.

With so much conflicting data now available, as well as doctors who are also in conflict with one another over HRT, women are even more confused. Now is the time to find a knowledgeable physician or provider who can guide you through your options so you can make an informed decision about your own life and your own health without medical gaslighting. Only you know how you feel, and your visit should be your opportunity to be seen and heard without a medical provider dismissing your experience.

You matter. All women matter, and since 100% of women will go into menopause if they live long enough, it is time for all members of the medical field to start listening. Hormones are vital to aging and disease risk reduction. I also agree with the updated information available that the WHI Study was very flawed.  I highly recommend four books that can help you decide the path that is best for you. This is your body and your medical teammate is here to offer you options, support, and thoughts on whether you are a candidate or not for HRT.

We understand that no two individuals are alike. That is why we offer hormone replacement therapy tailored to your specific needs, time constraints and lifestyle, even for women in perimenopause. We will see the men in your life too. Our goal is to enhance your overall well-being in these times that are changing rapidly.

What sets Fusion apart is experience. As a board certified OBGYN, I have seen it all and have done most of it. I have collected a lot of data over the last 20 years and have applied that information into my hormone practice. I see many of the women whom I delivered their babies who are back in my life again for hormones. That is my highest honor.

I have seen many clinics just writing prescriptions of SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) for depression and anxiety, without a thorough evaluation that includes checking hormone levels and considering individual patient factors.

These same medications that will have a woman gain 20 pounds and reduce her sex drive to zero. I am not in agreement with a med spa with unskilled providers offering hormone treatments A two-day course is not enough to do this therapy. That is a huge problem.

Thank you for being here. I see and hear you.

Love,

Dr. Lisa

Disclaimer: This is not medical advice. This is my experience and in reading the updated information about the WHI.

Not all doctors agree on HRT. (Thank goodness because this is where progress for women is made.)

Dear Women Who Are Not Seen Or Heard In Today’s Medical Setting,
